I’ve longed for a movie of this caliber, I’ll see it a few more times with my children, grandchildren and their friends.
The sad thing about this movie is that racist Hollywood would not have
‘allowed’ a black director to do this most important film. Lucas is white and
his perspective is tinged, naturally. HE PUT HIS MONEY INTO THIS HISTORICAL FILM because he knew the film would take off. The black
community,especially, would embrace this often overlooked part of black
men’s history. There was not much risk. We are starved to see our men in this kind of film. If only a black director was getting the accolades. If only…
