How does a Black author, with little funds, get his work/memoir advertised on The Boyce Blog . . . ? It seems impossible, for a black author to get any kind of a push, a ripple from strong black leaders involved in the mainstream media, in getting his published book promoted through black blogging, without paying all of his “potboiler,” money made from freelance writing.
Our sisters and brothers who own their blogs are forever telling authors and writers to get in touch with them in order that they may help in promoting the author’s writings. However, as a “today’s author” and a newly published writer I find it nauseating dealing with most black blogs who swear to help the writer and enthusiastically suggest that they blog, email, text, www them for professional assistant. Moreover, when this is done they politely ask you to pay them one leg and one finger, and six boild eggs
Perhaps, if you who are in the black media with clout read this comment about how I can get a push up the author latter by promoting my book through your media, I’d greatly appreciate!

I would like to inform you. “DON’T WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO HELP YOU PROMOTE YOUR BOOK.” PROMOTE IT YOURSELF! I self-published my book in 2000 and have sold over 100,000 copies without any publishing company backing me. We are people of African Descent must stop being the victim and become the survivor we have alway’s been. If you have any level of income use it to your advantage. If you cannot buy advertising than use flyer’s and mail . Don’t give up. If you believe your book is good reading do whatever “you” can to promote it.

Flash mob, issues are from teenagers point of view, lets keep it real.. deals with teens feeling fear, frustration, with no employment for our youth. Only to get employed and work one day a week in Phildaelphia so they cant obtain unemployment, makes teen even more frustrated. They feel, thanks to our Jacked up Political System being ran by a bunch of morans; have our teen fighting a losing battle feeling lost, while alienated, with shame, being shoved, feeling hunger, seeing greed, evil, experiencing poverty on a whole new level. I say our black youth are being ostrasied by the media, starving frmo the currupt system. Now only to be put on a nine-o-clock curfew, while extending hour at the receation center. Mayor Nutter and politiancians, can you hear our youth, they don’t want to play they want to work and make a decent living….wrap your minds around that, stop acting blind to the waysof the world…Being greedy

As a small, small black resturant owner, I’ve been looking , trying to find any help out there for small businesses that only have one or two retired people running it to try and encourage the young black men in the area to open up legal means of making a living. Also, are there books, or is anyone trying to teach these young black to support older business owners and not just go to their business and beg for free food, spoons, forks, cups of ice, plates, and go out, sit in their car and eat food they bought at corner store. We have now four generations of young black men out there who have no respect for themselves let along their elders. So of these young men are ready gang-up five strong to jump on a senior citizen just for asking them not to stand in front of my business with their pants down and no shirts on, talking loud and cursing. What is even more sad, is they turn around and get all the others of their peer groups to stop coming to my business because they can’t come in my place and act the way they do in front of the corner stores, and the young black barber shops. I hope Dr.Boyce can one day write a book on the illegal black business culture that’s growing among young black men who thinks that’s part of our culture as one young man said to me. They want the help of the older people when they go to jail but don’t want to give any help. Funny, many of these same boys I will see them up at the prison where I’m a voluntary Chaplain. I hope the President can come up with some bailouts for those of use out here on the streets trying to be some kind of good role model for these young men.
